THESE EVENTS ARE BASED ON THE LENSES THAT LIBERATE MODEL, AN INTEGRATIVE SYSTEM FOR HEALING AND AWAKENING (READ MORE HERE). EACH WEEK WE WILL DEEPLY EXPLORE A DIFFERENT LENS (OR QUALITY OF OUR BEING) USING PARTNER BASED EXERCISES AND GROUP ENQUIRY TO CO-REGULATE IN DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF THE NATURAL STATE.
WE WILL USE THE BREATH AND CONNECTION WITH OUR SUBTLE BODY TO ANCHOR OURSELVES IN OUR SOMATIC EXPERIENCE AND THE PRESENT MOMENT SO WE CAN TRULY EXPLORE TOGETHER WHAT IT MEANS TO BE BOTH HUMAN AND SOMETHING MUCH VASTER AT THE SAME TIME.

DOWNLOAD A MEDITATION TIMER

Before you come to the event, please download a meditation timer on your phone that allows you to create A BELL OR ALARM at 5 Minute intervals.

ONCE YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED A TIMER, SAVE A 30 MINUTE MEDITATION AS A PRESET, SETTING A BELL TO RING AT 5 MINUTE INTERVALS.

I recommend the “Insight Meditation Timer” which you can use for both Android and Apple.

Here are the exact instructions on how to create an interval timer using this app:

  1. Download the “Insight Meditation Timer” on the Android or Apple Store

  2. Click on the “Globe” icon on the bottom left corner of the main screen

  3. Click the “Timer” option

  4. Set the Duration to “30 Minutes”, the Ambient Sound to “None” and the Interval Bells to “5”.

  5. Click on “Interval Bells” option and set the first interval to “5 minutes from start”

  6. The timer should now look like the adjacent image

  7. Click “Save” in the top right corner

 

HOW THE MAIN PRACTICE WORKS

A question will be given based on the particular lens we are exploring. We will alternate in intervals of 5 minutes between being the speaker and the listener.

As the Speaker

As the speaker you are free to explore the instruction in any way that feels natural. It is best to take at least some of the 5 minute period in silence to inwardly reflect and feel into the question.

Let the instruction be the compass for your exploration, returning inwardly to it many times during the 5 minute periods.

You can have your eyes open or closed during your exploration.

As the Listener

Treat the listening as a meditation, maintaining a gentle eye contact with your partner and receiving what they are saying.

Continue to feel into the instruction you give them as you be in presence with them.

Don’t involve yourself in the content of their sharing by nodding or non-verbally agreeing with them but rather, treat the practice as an opportunity to hold a center of presence for them as they explore what arises for them.

When the bell rings at the end of each 5 minute interval, say “Thank you” to your partner before alternating.

Over the last 19 years, I have PRACTICED thousands of hours of meditation and have studied closely with many of the MOST INFLUENTIAL meditation teachers and healers in the world, including Reggie Ray, Adyashanti, Peter Fenner, Eckhart Tolle. I have also trained in Integrative Psychotherapy, Gestalt Therapy and Somatic PSYCHOTherapy (Hakomi, founded by Ron Kurtz). I have also been very influenced by the work of Stan Grof and HIS Holotropic Breathwork METHOD and use breathing techniques FREQUENTLY in my exploration with people.
